Cristaino Ronaldo’s, Mother Pleads For Allegiance With Pope Francis
Pope Francis is a passionate supporter of the Argentinian football team San Lorenzo, but if he could ever think about switching allegiances then he could become a Manchester United supporter.
The Pope Francis was given the No 7 Man Utd jersey of Cristiano Ronaldo from the mother of the striker, Maria Dolores dos Santos Viveiros da Aveiro, during a weekly general audience in the Paul VI Hall at the Vatican on Wednesday and he looked pleased as punch about it.
The Pope was born in Buenos Aires, and grew up supporting San Lorenzo. In 2014, after San Lorenzo won for the first time the Copa Libertadores — South America’s equivalent of the Champions League — the team travelled to the Vatican to present the trophy to their most famous supporter.
