Vlahovic has signed contract with Juventus as inherits Cristiano Ronaldo’s shirt number
Dusan Vlahovic who was formally associated with Manchester United as the United’s earlier showed interest in him has just finalized and moved to Juventus inheriting the shirt number No.7 of the popular world football star who is currently a Premier League striker Cristiano Ronaldo
The Serbian talisman completed his transfer last month, putting an end to a bubbling transfer saga that saw Manchester United among the host of clubs linked with a move for the forward.
This season, he has scored 17 goals in 21 appearances, leaving La Viola in seventh place in Serie A..
He takes over the responsibility of having the famous seven shirt, Cristiano wore during his time in Italy where he scored 101 goals in 134 appearances.
“The number seven jersey represents nothing. All the numbers are important here. I chose it because it’s the closest to number nine,” Vlahovic said speaking in a press conference via Football Italia.
“I am here to help my teammates and reach our targets. The shirt number is not important. Determination and commitment are what matter the most. I don’t care about the rest. The most important thing is to win games.”
January saw a number of reports linking the 22-year-old away from Fiorentina including speculation over a move to the Premier League.
But Vlahovic cooled talks of a move to England insisting his Serie A swap was an “easy” decision.
He added: “There were many rumours about foreign clubs, but the choice was easy because the club and I have a similar DNA. Fight and suffer when needed.
“I think it’s part of my mentality as well, so the choice was not difficult.”
