Salle’s Early Life
Salle was born in 2004 to South-Eastern parents. |She was born and bred in the ancient city of Owerri. Salle is an Igbo girl whose parents raised her to be a Christian, instilling in her a strong love for God and humanity.
Her parents, who were Catholics, would take her with them to church to attend masses from an early age.
As she grew older, Salle’s found another love in the body of Christ – the choir.
After the proper screening by the choir team, she was admitted into the choir and started learning the ropes of what it meant to be a singer. And in no time, she became one of the lead vocalists in the choir.
But she wasn’t satisfied with just singing songs in church and would spend her free time composing new songs in her diary.
As someone who loves to explore, she decided to try her hands on other genres of music (asides from gospel). This was the pivotal point in her career.
Call Me Salle began to pay more attention to Pop and Afrobeats sounds, and from there, she was inspired to start creating her music.
However, she was limited to just writing down the songs in her diary and singing them in the presence of her parents or on her way to school.
Salle‘s educational journey started when she was enrolled in a Creche at the age of two.
At five, she got admitted into an elementary school and obtained her First School Leaving Certificate after six years of study.
Living in Owerri meant that she was far away from the entertainment hub of the country – Lagos. And this meant that it was difficult for music executives and A&R personalities to discover her.
However, Salle didn’t allow this to deter her, and she kept on believing God that he would provide an opportunity for her star to shine. While holding on to the belief, she remained active in the choir and attended local pop shows to give her a feel of performing on stage.
Fortune finally smiled on Salle while she was working -hawking wares- on the streets of Owerri. Some persons had heard her beautiful voice while she was singing. Stopping her, they asked her if they could record her singing, and she obliged.
The video, which she posted on Instagram and Twitter, spread like wildfire on the internet within hours and had thousands of shares and retweets.
So far, the viral video has over 500,000 views on Instagram. Due to the video’s success, she has signed a deal with a local management company that is now representing her interests.
The video brought her to the attention of many top music executives in the industry, who were intrigued by her talent and want to groom her into a global star. One of the first to reach out to her was Mavin Boss, Don Jazzy.
Don Jazzy has made his intentions known that he wants to train her to become a better artist and turn her into a big star as he did for Rema, Ayra Starr, Crayon, Magixx, and Ruger.
Also, international star Rihanna has contacted Salle’s management, and they are already in talks with her to collaborate on a music project.
Salle is also not taking her newfound fame for granted. She has been working tirelessly in the studio to record songs that would solidify her stay in the industry and win her many fans.
Salle is currently set to release her debut EP, titled Call Me Salle. Music pundits have predicted that the project would take the industry by storm. She describes her music sound as Magical.
Currently, Salle has released some couple of songs (Let Me See as well as a new song she featured TI Blaze on titled “Soul“) of which are her official singles as well as covers.
Though her life changed dramatically for good in less than a month, Salle is a girl from a humble background. Her parents are traders who tried their best to give her a good life.
But due to the economic situation in the country, Salle had to resort to hawking wares to supplement the family’s income.
The 18-year-old Salle currently resides in Owerri, Imo State. She wears dreadlocks on her head and is light-skinned in complexion.
At the moment, she is not in any serious relationship because she is more focused on building her career.
